Men and Counselling ; Why it is Good for You
Every man has the ultimate goal of being the man. Being the very best at your work. Receiving endless compliments for a job well done from collegues, friends and family or smashing the glass ceiling with that business you’ve being building. Feeling appreciated by your own close family. The society noticing that you are now the big bad and wanting you to show them just how you do it or something like that. That is all well and good and seems a little too good to be true basing on your current reality. If that’s your wish you actually have a horse to ride on, counselling.
Everything you know about being a man goes like you can cry, men don’t do that, keep your problems to yourself that’s the real man way until life hands you mixed results with an A for anxiety and S for stress. It’s a good thing someone thought that you needed a safe space to de-stress and made a quiet place where you can just talk about you and cry all you want without making you feel like an idiot. With counselling you are getting a first class ticket to the land of self- awareness so as to be in a position to handle everything.
The more unpacked you are the easier it get’s to decide what needs to get done first. The idea that you can very much be a jack of all trades only works in theory , practically being a master at what you do is what brings in all the goodies. It would be fantastic if nothing like worry existed. The terrible news is that it actually very much exist, counseling helps you know how to manage it and if possible use it to get you where you need to go , suppress it when it threatens to take over. Kill stress and anxiety before they do it to you first.
Communication is much less what you say and everything to do with how you say it. The aim of counselling is to provide you with the tools to allow you pass whatever message you want without coming out on the wrong side of the divide. That is very much progress. To keep you on pedestal , counselling equips you with much needed resources to help you stay on course. Soon when they see the change and ask you how you got there , you can give them that knowing smile of yours and say counselling. Counselling may not be everything but it can be quite something.
